The McLaren 675LT Spider is gearing up for a launch next year, and will feature a folding hard-top roof - as seen in our pictures of the car being tested in light camouflage.
The news comes just as we've spotted the 570S GT, a more practical version of the British brand's entry-level model that could even be available with a 2+2 cabin layout.
Unlike that car, the 675LT Spider will be a hardcore, lightweight supercar just like its coupe sibling - which weighs just 1,230kg thanks to a lightweight carbon fibre chassis and body. Expect the Spider version to put on a bit of weight compared to the coupe, though.

Still, with the same 666bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 on board the Spider will likely match the coupe's 0-62mph time of 2.9 seconds - and should be able to top 200mph flat out.
From our spy shots it's clear that the 675LT Spider won't look much different to the coupe version - expect the rounded exhaust pipes and larger side air intakes from the coupe to replace the 650S-style parts on this development car. The reshaped front bumper and the 'long tail' referenced in the name will remain, too.
