Toyota has revealed full pricing and spec details of the new Prius after its Frankfurt Motor Show unveil. The hybrid is on sale now from £23,295, with customer deliveries expected in March.

Now in its fourth-generation, the Prius' entry price makes it £1,300 more expensive than the outgoing model. But more kit is available as standard on base Active models, including dual-zone climate control, keyless start, LED headlamps, a touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, adaptive cruise control and an electric driver's seat.

The Business Edition (£24,195) targeted at company car users adds soft-touch cabin trim, a head-up display, heated front seats, a leather wheel, blind spot monitor and a wireless phone charger, while Business Edition Plus gains 17-inch alloys, satnav and Park Assist.

Top-spec Prius Excel (£27,450) receives leather upholstery, a JBL premium audio system, rain-sensing wipers and extra connectivity functions for the infotainment system.

All models receive Toyota's new 'Safety Sense' active assist tech bundle as standard. This includes pre-collision warning that can detect cars and pedestrians, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure alert, road sign assist and auto high-beam.
