With the new Audi A4 now on sale in the UK, attention has turned to updating the brand's smaller A3 range. A disguised saloon has been spotted showing revisions that are expected to be unveiled in mid-2016.
This being Audi, expect exterior revisions to the A3 to be extremely subtle - after all, even the all-new A4 doesn't look much different from its predecessor. The current car first went on sale back in 2012, so it's due a facelift.
Despite the camouflage, you can see a revised front grille with more prominent slats inspired by the A4, and we can also expect reprofiled lights. At the back even less will change, with the tail-lamps altered minutely.
We've yet to see the interior, but we can expect similar changes that the Q3 facelift brought including new materials, revised seats and an updated satnav. Given the A3 sits on the MQB platform, we can't rule out the 'Virtual Cockpit' digital instrument display won't be brought over from the TT and A4.
The current range of petrol and diesel engines will be tweaked for efficiency, with incremental improvements in performance expected across the board. We expect more details to emerge in the coming months.
