Vauxhall has given its loud-and-proud Maloo pick-up a facelift with a difference. The bonkers 'ute' gains a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in LSA form to give it a whopping 528bhp, nearly 100bhp more than the outgoing model.
It's the same engine found in the current Vauxhall VXR8 GTS saloon, with 671Nm of torque. It propels it from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds, which is as fast as the new turbocharged Porsche 911 Carrera. It also makes it easily the fastest and most powerful commercial vehicle in Britain.
That's right: like the non-supercharged Maloo, the LSA is VAT-exempt for business users. Quite what business Vauxhall has in mind we don't know, but it'll certainly speed up any deliveries in that load bay.

For the extra power and torque the LSA commands an additional £3,000 over the naturally-aspirated outgoing Maloo, at £54,500 for the six-speed manual. But it also gets a number of chassis tweaks to help it tame that extra power.
Spring and damper rates have been stiffened front and rear, while standard kit now includes launch control, a limited-slip diff, satnav, Bluetooth, leather and a revised entertainment interface. A new 20-inch alloy wheel design, a deeper front splitter, new colours and black exterior detailing complete the look.
