Infiniti has released a darkened teaser image of a new concept SUV heading to the Beijing Motor Show next month. It's said to be an "exploration of the brand's vision for a next-generation, mid-size premium SUV".
We can only see half of the front end in this image, but you can make out a striking shape and an adaptation of the latest Infiniti family face found on the Q30. The release cites "wide muscular lines" like the Q60 coupe, floating A-Pillars and wide wheelarches, but we'll have to take Infiniti's word for it.
There's no details of when we can expect a production model, but Infiniti Design Director Alfonso Albaisa drops some hints at the QX's intent: "This concept demonstrates how Infiniti can offer something new and exciting with future QX SUV models".
It's most likely that an eventual production car would replace the ageing and unpopular QX50, which has been around since 2009, but we'll have to wait until we see it at Beijing to bring you the full story.
