Aston Martin and Zagato have renewed their long-standing partnership to create this: the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato. The restyled supercar has debuted at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.

Zagato has been redesigning Astons for five decades, with notable models including the stunning V12 Vantage Zagato of 2011 and the divisive DB7 Zagato of 2002. The latest car, based on today’s Vanquish, gets bespoke body panels and distinct styling details to make it even more special than the standard version of Aston's supercar.

The exterior design was created by Zagato’s dedicated team in Milan under the watchful eye of Aston’s own designers. It features bodywork sculpted from one-piece panels of carbon fibre, with the Zagato trademark ‘double bubble’ roofline and a sharp new rear-end with ‘bladed’ LED tail-lights.

The front grille is also enlarged, with bright LED running lights embedded inside it. A chunky contrasting carbon lower bodykit also features, with quad exhausts nestled in the rear diffuser.  Inside, the Vanquish gets carbon fibre trim paired with bronze trim details and ‘Z’ pattern quilted leather.

Aston is claiming the Zagato has ‘enhanced driving dynamics’ although it doesn’t elaborate further on that. Expect minor suspension changes, but nothing out of the ordinary. What we do know is that the naturally aspirated V12 engine has been uprated to 592bhp, from the 568bhp you get in the standard car.

Despite this being described as a concept car for now, Zagato tends to build its bespoke Astons in extremely limited numbers. If you fancy buying one, however, expect to pay quite a bit more than the standard Vanquish’s £194,000 asking price.
