A new all-electric hypercar, called the Dendrobium, is set to feature at the Geneva Motor Show, with a global reveal pencilled in for the 7th March.
The concept car previewed in our teaser images is the work of Singaporean electric vehicle specialists Vanda Electrics. Vanda has also enlisted the services of Williams Advanced Engineering – the technology wing of the Williams Group and Formula 1 team – as a technical partner to aid in the car’s development phase.

Vanda says that Williams’ influence will be seen in the car’s powertrain, batteries and aerodynamics. The car’s silhouette is previewed in the teaser shots, hinting at the low down nose, the bulbous haunches for the wheels, the mid-section tapering towards the rear plus the huge rear wing. Vanda says that the door and roof will open automatically in a synchronised manner, supposedly resembling a fully-opened dendrobium flower.
We’ve not received any pictures of the interior just yet, but Vanda says the car will feature a cockpit upholstered using fine Scottish leather from the Bridge of Weir company.
The new teaser images aren’t her first time we’ve seen the Dendrobrium. However, compared to the design study showcased on Vanda’s minisite the real-life concept heading for Geneva appears to be a little toned down.
Vanda has revealed nothing official regarding the powertrain underpinning its upcoming concept car, but reports around the web suggest that it could have as much as 1,500bhp and a 0-62mph time of 2.5 seconds.
The Dendrobium is a radical departure from Vanda Electric’s other vehicles. The Singaporean company has designed a small electric off-road truck called the Ant Truck, with a supposed one tonne payload and 62-mile range, as well as the Motochimp – a 37 mile all-electric monkey bike.
Further details regarding the Dendrobium will be revealed over the coming weeks.
