In March 2016, Italian design and engineering company Italdesign made waves at the Geneva Motor Show with a bold reimagining of the Lamborghini Huracan, but this year it seems they are making the leap into actual production with a new five-car venture.
The company has released a teaser image – its second in as many months – along with the message: “This year we will shine a light on 5 special stories. For 5 visionary collectors. We will see you at the Geneva International Motor Show.”
When asked for clarification by Auto Express, all Italdesign would confirm is that it would be producing five units for five customers, implying that this latest endeavour will result in a small batch of road-going vehicles.
Back at Geneva 2016, the VW-owned outfit unveiled an all-electric, shooting brake version of the Huracan, ditching the existing V10 engine in favour of a 483bhp EV powertrain and christening the creation the GTZero.
Sculpted by former Lambo designed Filippo Perini, the GTZero featured a carbon monocoque frame with three electric motors: two at the front axle and one at the rear. Using batteries built into the frame of the car itself, the concept had a theoretical range of 311 miles.
