Skoda has revealed a light nip and tuck for the Citigo city car, with a slight front-end design rethink plus minor changes in the cabin.

At the front, Skoda’s city car gets a tinkered face with a new, creased bonnet plus an ever so slightly revised radiator grille. The car’s front bumper features a wider air vent stretching from each corner, with new rectangular fog lamps embedded within it.

The headlights now feature daytime LED running lights, while fog lamps with corner tracking make the options list.

Elsewhere, tinted taillights are now on the options list for mid range Citigo models, alongside contrasting black or white wing mirrors and roof panels.  A new set of 15-inch alloy wheels and a fresh shade of green paint round up the exterior design changes.

In the cabin a slightly re-arranged dashboard and dial setup is found. On high trim cars a two-tone dashboard now appears, and the instruments receive a redesign with two different looks available. An optional multifunction steering wheel appears, alongside a Maxi-DOT instrument panel display.

Skoda loves to tout its ‘Simply Clever’ features, and the Citigo facelift gains a new one  - an umbrella is stored under the passenger seat.

New-generation Blue and Swing model radio systems appear – the latter gaining a colour display, six speakers plus Bluetooth connectivity for iOS and Android smartphones.

Engines remain the same with two 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol options – one with 59bhp and the other with 74bhp. A full reveal will take place at the Geneva Motor Show next month, where Skoda will also reveal Scout and Sportline variants of its new Kodiaq SUV, plus the most powerful Octavia ever
