Mazda is hoping to tempt the droves of September’s ’65 plate buyers in with a new Sport Black Edition of its 2 supermini. The Ford Fiesta rival gets racy styling additions and extra tech, kicking off at £15,395.
Based on the 1.5-litre 89bhp petrol version, Sport Black models get 16-inch Gunmetal alloys, black front and side skirts, a black spoiler and a chrome exhaust trim. Soul Red metallic or Snowflake White pearlescent paints are offered as no-cost options, which are £650 and £530 options respectively on the rest of the range.
Further customisation is available thanks to the option of two exterior graphic decal designs and contrasting door mirrors (Soul Red on Snowflake White cars and Brilliant Black on Soul Red cars), although these cost extra.
It builds on the equipment found on SE-L Nav spec, which includes cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB digital radio and Bluetooth, all-round electric windows and aircon. The Sport Black special edition adds to that rear privacy glass, rear parking sensors auto headlights and auto wipers.
