As new car events go, the Tokyo Motor Show usually proves to be one of the wackiest and most surreal out there. As well as the usual next-gen model debuts, there are always some radical concepts, unusual designs and even the odd robot.
It's the home turf motor show for firms such as Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Mitsubishi and Suzuki and the different tastes and regulations of the Japanese market mean some of the cars (and model names) will be totally alien to UK buyers. But despite this, there will be plenty of relevant metal on show this year from the home brands and many others.
We'll be keeping this page updated in the build up to the Tokyo Motor Show 2015, and when the event kicks off we'll be giving you minute-by-minute coverage of the show stars and latest news. Our journalists and snappers will bring you images, video and words straight from the show floor. Stay tuned...
Tokyo Motor Show 2015: new production cars and concepts
Honda
Honda FCV: Following on from the FCX Clarity, Honda will debut a new and more advanced hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle at Tokyo. Unlike the old car, it's expected to be available to buy outright, and will even come to the UK. It gets an impressive 435-mile range, too.
Lexus
Lexus' new range: Toyota's luxury division will show us it's all-new RX SUV and updated GS saloon range, but that's not all. We'll see a mystery luxury car concept at the show, which will point at the styling direction for next-generation Lexuses in years to come.
Mazda
Mazda sports car concept: Earlier this month Mazda revealed a teaser image of a sleek new two-door sports car, which fuelled rumours of a new RX8 on the horizon. Indeed it's looking likely this will receive rotary engine tech, so we'll have to see!
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi eX: The eX is a dynamic crossover-SUV design that showcases both a new full-electric powertrain, and the design direction for the next generation ASX.
Nissan
Nissan Teatro for Dayz: Standing for 'Theatre for Days', this boxy little concept previews a fully digital interior design that can even show photos on the dashbaord, instruments and doors.
Subaru
Subaru Impreza and Viziv concepts: Subaru will be showing a next-generation Impreza concept at Tokyo, and a new SUV concept that previews both autonomous driving tech and the design direction of the next Forester.
Suzuki
Suzuki Ignis: The production ready version of the dinky city car crossover will be displayed at the show, and is expected to revive the Ignis name with it. Suzuki will also show the Mighty Deck and Air Triser concepts. Yep, you heard that right. One is a miniscule pick-up truck with a retractable canvas roof and electric load deck, and the other is a bonkers miniature camper van with back-to-front styling.
Toyota
Toyota S-FR coupe, FCV Plus, Kikai and robot: Toyota set to debut at small MX-5 rivalling coupe design at the Tokyo show, alongisde some truly insane concepts and a 10cm robot that talks to you in your car.
