A facelifted Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck is on the way at the end of next year, featuring a new Euro 6-compliant diesel engine and a handful of interior and exterior changes.
The truck hasn't been officially revealed yet, but Isuzu has confirmed to Auto Express that leaked pictures on a Thai website are real - and that the pick-up will be available in the UK in December 2016.
Although the pictures show the Thai specification model, it's likely that the new D-Max will be available in a similar specification and with the same 1.9-litre twin-turbo engine. The leaked info suggests that the motor will have around 10 per cent more power and nine per cent more torque than the current 2.5-litre unit. It's apparently 20 per cent lighter too.
Emissions are said to be down too, with the source quoting 162g/km, which is about 15 per cent better than the current truck's 192g/km figure.
The Thai verison of the updated D-Max will get a new grille, bumper, bonnet and tailgate design, plus LED daytime running lights and it's expected that the UK model will follow along similar lines. Inside, it will get a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, roof-mounted loudspeakers and various trim updates to keep it competitive. None of this is confirmed for the UK model but expect to see most of the new features make it over here.
