The 2015 SEMA show rarely disappoints in terms of bizarre metal and interesting concepts, and Kia is hoping it can draw in some crowds with this creation. Called the A1A Optima, it takes the standard saloon and chops it into a four-door convertible. A four-door convertible with suicide doors!
The A1A Optima is named after a famous coastal highway in Florida, and pays tribute to the sunshine state with its roofless bodystyle, backwards-hinged doors and bright teal paintwork. In true SEMA style it gets brash 20-inch chrome wheels and is lowered on coilovers.
Inside there's "soft butter-cream" coloured leather bucket seats and a custom centre console to help it stand out further. The concept car uses a US-spec 242bhp turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine buts gets a high-performance exhaust.
As with most of the SEMA displays, it's been built to showcase a range of aftermarket products rather than anyting Kia will release as a production car, so don't expect a wind-in-the-hair Optima in your dealer any time soon.
