Renault has teased showgoers at this year's Indian Auto Expo with two chalk-and-cheese concept versions of the new Kwid. The city car is shown in sporty 'Racer' and rugged 'Climber' editions for the first time.
The budget-focused Kwid went on sale in India at the end of last year, and could reach the UK badged as a Dacia soon. It's unlikely to hit the streets in Racer form, however, given its extreme exterior styling.

The Kwid Racer gets a chunky bodykit, two-tone paintwork with a black roof and red detailing, 18-inch alloys and an aggressive front air intake. Inside, it's been turned into a two-seater, with a roll cage in place of the back bench and racy front bucket seats with four-point harnesses.
Also shown at the Auto Expo was a more realistic, production-ready 'Climber' version of the Kwid. It gets rugged styling on the outside, fatter tyres, increased ground clearance and blue styling details. Front and rear underbody protection completes the look.
