After announcing a raft of updates to the current XV last year, Subaru has quietly snuck out a teaser image of the next-generation crossover before we see it in full at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
Little information is provided with the darkened image, but we do know it will inspire the production XV which is due in the next couple of years. At the front, we can see an outline that looks like a rugged interpretation of the five-door Impreza concept at Tokyo last year.
It's expected to share the same platform as the Impreza, too, and be fitted with a fresh range of petrol and diesel engines. That's especially crucial given the current XV (despite the 2016 updates) is still a fair way off the pace in terms of efficiency when compared to the Nissan Qashqai.
We'll get more details when our reporters fly off to the Geneva Motor Show next month.
