Jeep has hinted at a Hellcat-powered Wrangler – called the Trailcat – with two preview images released ahead of the 50th Anniversary Easter Safari event in Moab, Utah.
The pictures released this week show two of seven concept cars that due for unveil at the event later this month. One of the images shows the words ‘Trailcat’ across the front of what looks like a Jeep Wrangler, with an aggressive vented hood and lairy green bodywork – hinting that the Jeep Wrangler may be getting a Hemi-powered V8 engine.

Jeep has already confirmed a Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee called the Trailhawk is set to launch in 2017. Powered by a 6.2 litre supercharged V8 producing 697bhp, it’s possible that Jeep may be putting the same engine into put into the lighter Wrangler body – but nothing has been confirmed.
The other concept car previewed is known as the Jeep Crew Chief. Again, no further details were given but it’s rumoured that it may be a four-door pickup version of its Wrangler. No details have been released following the early photos, but we’ll be attending the event later this month and will be reporting from live Utah with more information.
