Mercedes has announced that you can now buy a suite of new engines across the E-Class estate and GLC Coupe ranges in the UK. Three new engines are added to the executive load-lugger, while the SUV gains two engines including a flagship AMG version.
The new E200d SE estate brings the price of the Volvo V90 rival down to £36,735 - £1,500 less than the E220d. The 200d is powered by a 148bhp 2.0-litre four cylinder diesel engine, promising 65.7mpg combined and CO2 emissions of 109g/km. The E220d can also now be ordered with 4MATIC four-wheel drive for an extra £1,500.
Further up the range, the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine arrives with 254bhp and 620Nm of torque. It claims 48.7mpg, emits 140g/km of CO2 and commands £47,255 - over £10,500 more than the E200d.
The range-topping Mercedes-AMG E43 4MATIC variant has also gone on sale. Starting at £58,290, it features a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine generating 396bhp and powering the estate from 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds. Like the rest of the range, it comes fitted with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The new GLC Coupe is also available with the same 3.0-litre V6 diesel as the E350d, joining the four-cylinder 250d. It starts from £47,135, emits 161g/km of CO2, claims 47.1mpg on the combined cycle and sprints from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds.
At the top of the range sits the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe. You'll pay £50,960 for the bi-turbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol, but here it produces 362bhp. It can get from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and is limited to 155mph.
