NextEV has released a teaser image for its upcoming all-electric hypercar on Twitter, ahead of a full reveal next week in London.
The teaser picture is typically coy. It shows only the car’s sleek, low headlights and the outline of two large air intakes in the front bumper, while promising more information on November 21 2016.
The Chinese based EV start-up has revealed a power figure though – the company claims the electric powertrain it has developed for its hypercar will produce over 1,360bhp. Power like that should make it a competitor for the likes of the Merc's upcoming F1 engined hypercar as well as Aston Martin and Red Bull’s AM-RB 001 project.

Like those two models, the NextEV machine will be a hypercar with motorsport right at the heart of its development, given NextEVs involvement in F1’s all-electric sibling, Formula E.
The company has run a team in the championship since the inaugural 2014-15 season, and has been using its own powertrain technology since 2015.
This season NextEV’s car is powered by a dual motor setup with a single gear, and while the firm’s hypercar will no doubt benefit from involvement in electric motorsport, it’s not clear how similar the two powertrains will be. The gulf in power between the road car and the racecar will be huge though, given Formula E cars are limited to produce the equivalent of 270bhp.
The NextEV hypercar will be produced in limited numbers and will likely have a price tag nearing seven figures. It’ll serve as a headline grabbing test-bed for the firm’s electric car technology, which will eventually find its way into less expensive mass-market offerings for NextEVs home market of China, though the company does have a presence in the United States and Europe.
