With a new version of the Bentley Continental GT on the way at the end of 2017, the luxury car maker is preparing a special version of the current car, likely to use the Supersports name. A teaser video posted to Bentley's social media channels has given us our first look at the new model.
The video shows a carbon-fibre rear wing, red brake calipers, some extra side skirts and sporty-looking vents on the bodywork. There's not much more to go on that that at this stage, but the video does include a date at the end to look forward to: the 6th of January 2017. Expect more information on the special new model then.
Speaking to Auto Express at a recent event, Bentley boss Wolfgang Durheimer said that the Supersports will have "well over 700bhp", which will come from a tuned-up version of the car's W12 engine. Expect some impressive performance figures to go with it, with the 0-62mph sprint taking less than 4 seconds.
With the Continental GT Speed already managing a top speed of 206mph, expect this "most extreme Bentley ever" to have a similarly huge figure as well.
There are no more details on the performance model yet, but we'll have more on the 6th of January when the car is revealed.
