Volkswagen will join Skoda at this month’s Shanghai Motor Show by revealing a new electric coupe-SUV, as previewed by these new teaser shots. While VW hasn’t officially announced what the concept will be called, the German manufacturer recently applied to trademark the name I.D. Crozz.
The coupe-SUV will be the third member of VW’s all-electric I.D. family, following on from the I.D. hatch and I.D. Buzz microbus.
The teaser images show very similar design themes to those already seen on the two previous I.D. concepts; thin LED light clusters at the front and rear are clear design cues lifted from the rest of the I.D. family.

VW has confirmed the I.D. Crozz will be four-wheel drive, which means dual electric motor setup is likely. It will use the same MEB platform as its stablemates, and should offer an electric range of between 249 and 373 miles.
The first of the I.D. family to arrive will be a production version of the Golf-sized I.D. hatchback in 2019. VW is still mulling over the decision to build the I.D. Microbus, but a production version of the I.D. Crozz appears to be more likely due to the ever-increasing demand of SUVs.
