Mercedes has added a brand new trim level called the Grand Edition to its GLS SUV range and the plush addition to the line-up is available to order now.
The GLS Grand Edition will hit the showrooms in March 2018 and will be offered in GLS 350d, 400 and 500 guises. The new trim comes with features such as an exclusive leather dashboard with wood trim and distinctive light alloy wheels. Unusually, Grand Edition buyers will have the option of choosing an interior or exterior package, or both.
For and extra £5,320, customers can add the interior package to their GLS Grand Edition. Included in the price is an exclusive nappa leather interior in a porcelain/espresso brown colour combination. The dashboard is also quilted in dark brown leather with the cream seats being diamond quilted.
The exterior package on the posh GLS will set you back an additional £2,060 on top of the base price of £71,385 for the 350d. The main feature on the exterior pack is the 10-spoke 20-inch light alloy wheels, painted black with a high-sheen finish. Next to the front wheel arches are Grand Edition badges to help the special edition GLS stand out that bit further.
This could potentially be the final edition of the current generation GLS. Spy shots last month revealed the next-generation GLS undergoing testing ahead of its predicted 2019 entry into the SUV market. The 2019 GLS joins a long and growing line of Mercedes-Benz SUV's such as the GLA, GLE and the G-Class.
