New limited-run BMW M4 can only be specced in one of M Sport’s three official colours, in honour of the German brand’s racing heritage

BMW has unveiled a fresh limited edition version of the M4 Coupe, all while the brand is preparing a brand new 4 Series for 2020.

Called the M Heritage Edition, it’s a cosmetically enhanced version of the M4 paying homage to the German brand’s racing pedigree. Production will be limited to 750 units worldwide, with just 75 allocated for the UK market.

The BMW M4 M Heritage Edition is offered in the three colours of the BMW M Sport logo, with buyers given the choice of Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue or Imola Red. Cosmetic additions include a new set of 20-inch alloy wheels, unique M Heritage badging and a carbon-fibre roof, finished with a stripe in the BMW M Sport colour scheme.

The interior features a pair of unique, two-tone sports seats, with the upholstery colour differing according to the exterior paint finish. Laguna Seca Blue examples are trimmed in white and black leather with turquoise stitching, while Velvet Blue cars feature orange and blue upholstery. Imola Red models come with red and black leather, with red and yellow stitching.

The limited-edition M4 also features unique treadplates and a carbon fibre dashboard, branded with the Edition M Heritage logo and the serial number of the car. The car’s front headrests are embroidered with the M Heritage logo, too, in either turquoise, orange or red stitching.

It’s powered by the same turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine as the standard M4 Coupe, producing 444bhp and 550Nm of torque, with power being fed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph, while its 0–62mph time remains identical at 4.3 seconds.

The BMW M4 M Heritage Edition is available to order in the UK now, although full pricing information is yet to be announced. First deliveries are expected to arrive in November 2019.
