This teaser image is our first look at a bonkers crossover, set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in two weeks time. While the old Juke-R made do with the standard Nissan GT-R’s 545bhp 3.8-litre turbocharged V6, the new Nismo version is expected to up the ante by lifting the GT-R Nismo’s more powerful 592bhp unit. That hints at a 0-62mph time of less than three seconds, and a top speed in excess of 200mph.

The next-generation car will not only be faster, it’ll also look more aggressive. With deeper bumpers, wider wheelarches and sharp red details throughout, the Nismo is unlikely to be confused for a standard Juke. It’ll use the updated crossover’s styling cues, with LED daytime running lights and revised taillights, but you can expect huge alloy wheels, lowered suspension and adaptive Bilstein dampers to feature, too.
We’ve not got any details on the car’s interior, but all Juke-R Nismos are likely to get a full FIA-specification roll-cage – just like the old car – as well as body-hugging bucket seats and steering wheel mounted paddles for the six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The old Juke-R was made available in limited numbers for an eye-watering £400,000 – with all models built by motorsport specialists RML in the UK. The current GT-R Nismo costs around 50 per cent more than the standard GT-R, so the Juke-R Nismo could cost as much as £500,000.
We’ll have more details on the crazy Nissan Juke-R Nismo in the coming days, ahead of the car’s full reveal in the not-too-distant future.
