It's official: Lamborghini will be displaying its latest range addition, in the form of a roofless Huracán, at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week. The Huracán Spyder is set to go on sale at the start of the year, priced from around £190,000.
The direct replacement for the old Gallardo Spyder, the Huracán is expected to retain the familiar 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine, which pumps out 602bhp and 560Nm of torque in the hardtop. In that form, it's capable of 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 202mph, although traditionally those figures marginally drop for cabrios.
Unlike its main rival the Ferrari 488 Spider, the Lambo is expected to retain a folding soft-top roof mechanism rather than the fashionable retractable hardtop. This is primarily to save weight and keep the performance deficit as minimal as possible.
We don't expect this to be the last edition to the range for the Italian firm's 4WD supercar. We've previously spied a prototype for what looks like a hardcore Superleggera version of the Huracán, with weight-saving measures and performance boosted further. We'll hopefully find out more when we head out to Frankfurt.
