Bentley launches new app that uses facial recognition to design your bespoke car

2015-09-22 16:36

Bentley has created an app, called Inspirator, for your smartphone or tablet device, which takes car customisation to a new level.

The app features facial and emotional recognition software, which measures 200 expression touch points on the user’s face at four frames per second.

So, rather than scrolling through a list of options and clicking on your favourites, the app uses your devise’s camera to monitor your reactions as films and images are shown to you, using the data to build and specify your very own bespoke Bentley Bentayga.

With over one billion specification combinations available, the app is there to help you effortlessly decide between exterior colours, wheel designs, interior trim options, preferred wood veneers and more.

“Configuring a Bentley is an intensely personal experience; it is a reflection of your personality and taste," said Kevin Rose, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Bentley. "The Inspirator aims to understand the inspiration behind the process of specifying a car. It provides intelligently curated responses which can be personalised further to truly make the car your own.”

The Bentley Inspirator App is available to download for free from the App Store and can be used on any iOS device. Available initially on the Bentayga, it will be rolled out across the rest of the Bentley range over the coming months.
