A teaser video released by Mercedes today has given us our first look at a new concept car that will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show 2016. It's not confirmed yet, but the teaser appears to show that the car is an SUV.

The video shows us a few details of the concept car, the main one being that it's an all-electric model: the on/off symbol is a less-than-subtle hint at that aspect of the design. The futuristic-looking grille is another hint, and it looks like the entire grille is made using LED lights rather than traditional materials. LED headlights and taillights are likely to feature on the concept as well as rear-view cameras in place of door mirrors.
The interior is hinted at in the video as well, with white panels seen around the Mercedes seat controls and a floating centre console. It's likely to use touch-sensitive buttons, and a shot of the steering wheel appears to show a similar control type on there as well.
This concept car is likely to be revealed as the Mercedes Tesla fighter that we revealed last month will use the EQ name. It's not clear how the EQ branding will be used in the name, but we understand that it will be used as Mercedes' BMW i style sub-brand for electric cars.
We'll have more information on the car when it is revealed at an event in Paris tomorrow evening.
