We all have a favourite item of clothing in our wardrobe. You know, the one that fits perfectly, feels quality and looks the part, whatever the occasion. Perhaps it’s a shirt that you feel smart in when presenting to your colleagues, but you’re just as comfortable throwing it on for a barbeque with friends at the weekend. Or maybe it’s a pair of shoes, versatile enough to complete any look.

A good car should have the same qualities. When you need it for work, it should be clever enough to help you stay connected to your business, and allow you to travel between meetings in comfort. It also needs to be cost efficient enough to keep the boss happy! It must be a car you are proud to be seen in, and when the weekend arrives, a car that lets you make the most of your leisure time.

The Megane Sport Tourer is exactly this sort of car. Spacious, smart and stylish, it has been designed to fit seamlessly into every aspect of your life.

From the outside, its styling alone is enough to make other company car drivers envious, with its distinct appearance making it stand out from the crowd. The Megane Sport Tourer is amongst the lowest set vehicles in its class, and when paired with its wide track, has an athletic and dynamic stance. It’s a refreshing change for those wanting to steer away from the fleets of block-sided SUVs and MPVs.

As with a finely tailored shirt, it’s the extra details that add to that true feeling of quality. A chrome trim runs along the Megane Sport Tourer’s waistline up to the rear quarter panel, whilst anodised alloy roof bars add both style and practicality – roof racks are much easier to attach and the low-slung profile of the Megane Sport Tourer makes loading bikes, skis and the like a much easier task than with an SUV or MPV. And just like the best tailors, there’s a choice of materials to suit your taste, ranging from cloths and leathers to suede-like Alcantara upholstery, available on the GT Line Nav and GT Nav trims.

The attention to detail doesn’t stop there either. The front headlamps incorporate LED daytime running lights in Renault’s signature ‘C-shape’ form, with full LED headlights as standard on the Signature Nav version, providing an even brighter road ahead when driving at night.

The latest technology finds its way inside the car too, with a range of features making the cabin comfortable, entertaining and – above all – a safe place to be. R-LINK 2, Renault’s latest multimedia infotainment system sits proudly on the central console in the form of a 7” touchscreen on the Dynamique Nav and GT Line Nav versions, with an 8.7” portrait touchscreen taking its place from the Dynamique S Nav trim upwards.

It’s not just the driver who will feel special in the Megane Sport Tourer. Whether you’re taking a client to the station or family to the beach, there’s comfort and space in abundance. The longer wheelbase means generous rear legroom, and a further reclined seating position (27° compared to the Megane Hatch’s 25°) gives an even more relaxing ride.

While you might be tempted to choose the Megane Sport Tourer simply for its looks, it’s more than practical enough too. Open the tailgate and you’ll see 521 litres of loadspace at your disposal, significantly bigger than a hatchback and enough to challenge cars from the segment above. Many drivers could in fact downsize to the Megane Sport Tourer and actually find they have more interior space!

So, the Megane Sport Tourer is a capable tourer, but what does it deliver on the sport front? For the purists, the range-topping GT Nav version offers the full Renault Sport experience. Bucket seats with integrated headrests keep you held in place for a truly involving drive that remains comfortable on long journeys, and Renault’s 4CONTROL 4-wheel steering technology is something offered by no other mainstream brand, giving unrivalled manoeuvrability. This goes towards the focused handling you would expect from a car crafted by a company with such a rich history in motorsport, with multiple Formula 1 World Championship titles and a long list of highly-acclaimed hot hatchbacks to its name.

Available from Dynamique Nav and above, Renault’s MULTI-SENSE system allows the driver to choose from a selection of driving modes to suit their particular wants and needs. Comfort mode makes tweaks to provide the smoothest and most gentle journey, whilst Sport mode tightens throttle response and steering to create the sportiest of drives. MULTI-SENSE also adapts the interior mood in line with the driving style selected, with several configurations available in the 7” TFT digital speedometer and different colours of ambient lighting around the cabin.

A wide selection of powertrains are on offer, with both petrol and diesel engines available, mated to manual or automatic gearboxes. The 205bhp TCe petrol engine and EDC dual-clutch 7-speed automatic transmission combination is reserved solely for the range-topping GT Nav, and engines of varying power offer exceptional efficiency across the range. The 110hp dCi diesel engine has the best economy figures of the engines available, emitting as little as 96g/km* when twinned with a manual gearbox, keeping company car taxes at a minimum.

Those savings will leave you with more to spend on the things you love – whether it’s an active weekend hobby or shopping for the next favourite shirt. Whatever it is, the Megane Sport Tourer is the perfect car to make sure you arrive in style.
