Mid-sized crossover shaken up as Toyota adds an additional model line to the line-up

Toyota has updated the C-HR crossover line-up in the UK with the addition of a new trim level called Design, intended as a more stylish and comfortable alternative to the Icon edition of the car.

18-inch alloy wheels are standard, and the Design also showcases a bright new Cyan Blue paint colour for the C-HR. Elsewhere, it gets all of the Icon’s equipment, plus rear privacy glass, ambient cabin lighting, Toyota’s Touch 2 infotainment system with built in navigation, front and rear parking sensors, and semi-autonomous park assist. Comfort is bolstered by the addition of heated seats with power adjustable lumbar support.

Elsewhere, a reversing camera, dual-zone climate control and Toyota’s Safety Sense driver assistance and safety kit is standard fit. The C-HR Design is available with both the popular 122bhp 1.8-litre hybrid powertrain – favoured by 77 per cent of C-HR buyers – plus the smaller 1.2-litre, 113bhp turbocharged unit.

The new Cyan Blue paint option is available across the C-HR range. Elsewhere for 2018 the C-HR Excel gains full black leather upholstery and LED taillights. The specification of the Dynamic trim car has been revised too, with new matt black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black fabric upholstery with silver dashboard trim, and an optional leather upholstery complemented by a premium audio setup by specialists JBL.

Finally, the C-HR Icon can be specified with a Tech Pack optional package, which includes a blind spot monitoring system, rear crossways traffic alert, lane departure warning with steering assist and power folding mirrors.
