Lotus has announced it’s most powerful ever production car, the new Evora 400, will cost from £72,000 when it arrives in showrooms this summer. First deliveries will begin in August.
As standard the Evora 400 comes fitted with a limited slip differential, automatic air conditioning and infotainment system featuring navigation. The British manufacturer has made available the option of a six speed automatic gearbox (£2,000), Alcantara and leather interior (£2,500), lightweight alloy wheels (£2,000) and metallic paint (£900). A Black Pack option (£1,250) adds a darkened roof, side sills and centre section of the three-piece rear wing.
The Evora 400 is powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-litre supercharged V6 developing 400bhp and 410Nm of torque. Lotus claims the newcomer can crack 0-60-mph in 4.1 seconds, hit 186mph and can lap Lotus' private Hethel test track six seconds faster than the outgoing model. Lotus claims up to two thirds of the Evora 400 is new in comparison to the current Evora.
Lotus aims to increase its current dealer network of 179 dealers to 200 by the end of the year in the UK.
