Peugeot is the latest in a growing line of manufacturers to develop bespoke racing cars for the Sony PlayStation game Gran Turismo 6. The Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo seen here for the first time is what the folks at Peugeot and Peugeot Sport have created.
Featuring design elements borrowed from the Onyx concept, including bulging rear arches, slim LED headlights and angular bodywork, the Vision Gran Turismo also retains some of Peugeot’s production DNA such as the familiar front grille. The concept sits on 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels and measures in at just 1,040mm tall.
It might be a virtual car but there are impressive specs to back-up those looks. Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.2-litre V6 engine, developing 875bhp. It’s fed through a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. Coupled with its perfect 1:1 power to weight ratio, Peugeot claims the digital racer can get from 0-62mph in 1.7 seconds.
Gamers will have the opportunity to take the concept for a spin on 40 different tracks as part of a free update for Gran Turismo 6. Other manufacturers involved with creating exclusive digital racers for the game in the past include VW, Subaru and Toyota.
