A new Vauxhall Vivaro-e will soon be added to the firm’s electrified line-up. It will follow the recently released Corsa-e and the plug-in hybrid Grandland X, and forms part of the British brand’s pledge to deliver eight new electrified models by 2021.
Like the conventional van, the Vauxhall Vivaro-e will be based on the firm’s EMP2 platform. Two battery sizes will be available from launch, with buyers offered either a 50kWh or a 75kWh unit. Vauxhall says the former battery offers a maximum WLTP range of 125 miles, while the latter provides a range of up to 185 miles.

The Vauxhall Vivaro-e shares its styling with the standard model, albeit with the addition of body coloured bumpers, painted door mirrors, new LED daytime running lights, a more intricate radiator grille and a charging port mounted on the front nearside wing.
Final specifications are yet to be announced, but we expect Vauxhall’s new electric commercial vehicle will get the same level of equipment as its mid-range diesel-powered sibling. As standard, buyers should get a set of 17-inch steel wheels, cruise control, a speed limiter, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and thickened side-glazing.
Vauxhall plans to further expand its electric portfolio over the coming years; all-electric variants of the new Combo and Combo Life are in the pipeline, both of which will use a modified version of the Vivaro-e’s electric architecture. Vauxhall will also release an all-electric version of the new Vivaro Life in 2021.
